Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Statement

Privacy:

We want you to protect your Personal Data. We define Personal Data as any data from which it is practical to directly determine your identity or the identity of any individual. We have established this Privacy Policy to explain how Personal Data is collected by us and how it is used.

In conjunction with this Privacy Statement, our Sponsors and Members should be aware of the Privacy Policy set out by Ning which is the platform used for our Sponsors Area and the Members Area linked to the Links of Love Website.

Links of Love does not use any type of automated mechanism for collecting information from visitors to the Website.  The only information that we collect and may continue to possess is that information which visitors provide to us in response to the “Contact Us” form, the “Join Us” form, and the Application, which are accessible on the Website.  That information is directed to Links of Love staff by email.  Additional information collected is provided to us directly by those individuals who have submitted an Application, required evidentiary documents and personal information necessary to be approved to either the Sponsors Area or the Members Area and that which is necessary for us to facilitate obtaining assistance for our Members.  You may choose not to provide information to us; however, we will not approve individuals for membership either as a Sponsor or a Member based upon incomplete information.  Complete information is necessary for us to provide our Services.

We take protecting your Personal Data and privacy very seriously.  The Administrative Staff, Sponsors and Members are all held to a strict Confidentiality Statement which binds them to non-disclosure of personal information, personal situations, personal finances and personal debt to anyone outside Links of Love unless first obtaining the written permission of a member in the form of a Release of Information.  We at Links of Love will not contact any individual on behalf of a member without first obtaining the written permission of the member.

The Administrative Staff provides to our Sponsors only that information, which is required to obtain the assistance needed by our Members and to ship packages to them.  Our Sponsors and their personal information are protected from disclosure to our Members by working within a separate and private Area, which the Members cannot enter.  Our Sponsors only receive information about our Members through the Links of Love Administrative Staff.  Our Members are identified to our Sponsors by their Member I.D. number.  Likewise, our Members participate and receive services from within their own separate and private Area, which the Sponsors cannot enter.  We ask that all of our Sponsors and our Members use a screen name to identify themselves to other Sponsors and Members within their respective Area.  Our Sponsors may disclose to our Affiliates only that information necessary for purchasing and shipping items to fulfill our Members’ requests.

We cannot control the interaction of our Sponsors with other Sponsors or that of our Members with one another.  We have strict Rules set up for both Areas, which prohibits the exchange of personal information when the intent is to obtain items privately and not through the control of the Administrative Staff.  We realize that our members may become friendly and that there may be occasions when they exchange personal information for other reasons.  We ask our members to be careful and use caution when providing personal information to others when the situation does not involve direct interaction with the Links of Love Administrative Staff.

Confidentiality Statement:

Because of the nature of our Services, and the fact that personal information is gathered, such as email addresses and home addresses, telephone numbers, and because it is necessary to provide some personal information to other members in order to obtain assistance and ship items, when you join Links of Love and are approved to enter either the Sponsors Area or the Members/Applicants Area you agree that you will keep all information concerning the members of Links of Love in the strictest of confidence.  Further, because our members discuss their private personal and financial situations, when you join Links of Love and are approved to enter either the Sponsors Area or the Members Area you agree that you will keep all such information in the strictest of confidence. That means that you will not disclose any personal information that you might have the opportunity to view, be given or come into possession of, to any other member of Links of Love or to any individual who is not a member of the Links of Love or another group or website outside the Links of Love Sponsors Area or Members Area.

You further agree that you will not provide to another individual, group or website any lists of our membership, lists of members who have received assistance from Links of Love, nor lists of items received by any Member. You will not disclose to another individual, group or website the identity of any member who has been terminated from Links of Love, nor will you disclose the reasons for that termination if you become aware of such information.

You will not discuss outside Links of Love, nor disclose to another individual, group or website the Rules of Links of Love. You will not discuss outside Links of Love, nor disclose to another individual, group or website any communications by the Co-Founders, Moderators or the Administrative Staff directed to members of the Links of Love. You will not discuss outside of Links of Love, nor disclose to another individual, group or website information concerning any contests or programs offered to Links of Love members. You will not discuss outside Links of Love, nor disclose to another individual, group or website any prizes, gifts, promotions, discounts, commissions, or private codes provided to Links of Love for its exclusive use by Links of Love Affiliates.  You will not discuss outside Links of Love, nor disclose to another individual, group or website any information concerning donors or donations.

You further understand that violation of this Confidentiality Statement will result in immediate termination of your membership to Links of Love.

Our Right to Report Incidents of Deceit and/or Dishonesty:

Links of Love takes a no tolerance position on deceit and dishonesty.  We provide our Members with a right to a fair hearing on these matters. If a Member is found to have committed an act of deceit or dishonesty and membership to Links of Love is thereafter terminated, we feel it is our duty to report this to other Websites where a Member has also been discovered to be posting and requesting assistance.

USE OF THE LINKS OF LOVE SPONSORS AREA OR THE LINKS OF LOVE MEMBERS AREA SIGNIFIES YOUR AGREEMENT TO THE PRIVACY POLICY AND THE CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT.
